Accidents at Work
Our experienced personal injury solicitors, (who are accident lawyers and compensation specialists) will tell you that workplace accidents are, unfortunately, more common than you might expect.
Most of our new work comes from recommendation.
People in charge of building sites and other employers, have statutory duties placed upon them giving them liability for ensuring your safety at work.
Most accidents occurring in a workplace (factories, shops, offices, warehouses and so on) will very often stem from the employers failure to comply with the statutory obligations which are imposed upon him under various Acts of Parliament, or Rules and Regulations, or approved Codes of Practice.
If you have been injured you will very often have a good prospect of obtaining accident compensation for any personal injuries which you have suffered at work. The compensation would be paid by an insurance company on behalf of an employer, the main contractor or owner of a building site.
Sometimes employers are able to successfully argue, and prove, that an employee is partly to blame for the accident, and for the injuries which they have sustained. In those cases the Courts might impose a discount for contributory negligence, but the employees generally will still be entitled to recover a high proportion of the full compensation value of the claim. Our accident solicitors will be able to give expert advice in each case. |
